Hey all,

I was wondering if someone knows of some good natural remedies that may help me seep better? Don't like taking pills, so that is why I am asking that. (Smile) Usually vitamin b suplements help me, but I think I now need something stronger.

lol, and here it comes again: I recommend www.holisticonline.com. They're a site containing just about every natural remedy you can think of. Look on the home page for the sections pertaining to sleep.

Hope that helps,
Becky

maybe try some meditation or relaxation music? heard that it helps to relax the body and put it to sleep.
personally, i listen to clasical music if i can't sleep. or simply read a book. i'm very slow in reading braille book, so, by the time i finish reading few pages, my brain will usually have enough and wanting to sleep.

Or, how about a glass or two of sleep-inducing milk, if this is available in Macedonia? It tastes the same as ordinary milk but contains melatonin, as cows are milked in the dawning hours.

Or, you could try a cup of horlicks with this milk; horlicks are supposed to help you sleep.

Some herbal teas can help you sleep, particularly chamomile tea. If you have it over there, I'd recommend the Traditional Medicinals brand, but if not, whatever chamomile tea you can get would be good.

get up and do something else. the more i try to sleep the less likely I am to do so. Get on the pc or listen to music.

Never rest during the day. This makes it less likely sleep will happen at night.

Eat watermellon or turkey. Both have something in them thatmakes us sleep.

Remember that everyone has different needs for sleep. You may just need less.

Do self relaxation.

I agree with the last poster, don't sleep during teday it makes it harder to sleep at night. Some times I wake up in te night and cant go back to sleep. I am up late tonight but will be going to bed soon. Try hot chocolate, that's supposed to help you sleep.

Or if you're calorie-conscious, maybe cocoa would be more suitable than drinking chocolate. Or, how about cornflakes in hot milk, especially if the milk is of the sleep-inducing type?

The chemical in turkey that makes you sleepy is triptifan. That is also in warm milk. as for me, i sleep when i feel like it. I'm used to my messed-up sleeping habits. Some nights, i'm up all night, while others, I sleep for most of it.

Sorry for the double-appearance of my lst post, however it happened.

I know that a lot of totally blind people have difficulty sleeping at the right (night) time, particulary if they don't have a routine daily schedule or are not kept very busy during the day.

This is also to do with light and darkness, which doesn't affect those of us who are totals.

I'm totally blind and sometimes have serious trouble sleeping. Mostly for me it works to try to make the rutine strong again. That is going to sleep and waking up at the same time. It can be dangerous to have much light on while sleeping. it has to do with receptors of the light in your skin and production of melatonin which is very essential for quallity sleep. sometimes I even stay up a night and a day to be able to get good sleep the next night and it can help to build up rutine. Some teas are said to help you sleep but not those of course who have caffein in them, much sugar near sleeping hour isn't good ether. to add one thing you can try to add two drops of concentrated lavender oil in your tea it has some natural relaxatives in it. Hope it helped.

try doing push-ups, or tidius work. Theat usually works. No Caffein at least six hours before you sleep will be screwed up... I have too menny experiments with caffein to know...

Exercise before you sleep will only keep you awake. I've got some really soothing New Age music that might help. Contact me for further details if you want it.

The first ting with going to sleep is being sleepy. One has to be calmed down completely. If you excercise before sleep the body does not begin production of melatonin which is an essential hormone for sleep. Another thing is not to eat dinner right before sleep especially not high sugar food.
